Our mining geotechnical and structural engineering team provided specialist services during the planning , construction and operation of Siloam, a subterranean expansion of MONA.
What we did
Works included:
- Geotechnical investigation and assessment of ground conditions
- Tunnel stability assessment and design of primary and secondary support
- Temporary retaining wall design to protect existing buildings and roads
- Design of capping beam on top of retaining wall
- Temporary ground support of tunnels, portals and bulk excavation of chamber and plant room
- Design of permanent support system for tunnels and chamber
- Steel set design for Siloam tunnel and Doppel tunnel
- Geotechnical investigation for Keifer portal, temporary and permanent support design for portal
- Geotechnical inspections and advice during construction
- Development of inspection trigger, action, response plan (TARP) for Siloam area and incorporation is site inspection records.
